With 25 years' experience in the split industry, Albert Sigl founded asw albert sigl warenhandelsgesellschaft in 1993. At the beginning, he had the support of three employees who also had extensive experience in the industry.
From the outset, the focus was exclusively on the storage of and trading in split products. His aim of perfecting, expanding and modernising the company on an ongoing basis continues to be pursued today.
Organisation and production facilities were also set up in Mattighofen (Austria) at the same time. The office is still at the original address on Moostrasse today.
Until 1999, the company was based on Saarner Strasse and later moved to Duisburger Strasse, both in Mülheim.
In 2006, the opportunity arose for Albert Sigl to acquire one of Mülheim's oldest historic buildings. After extensive and loving restoration work, the company's employees are now working in this wonderful, listed, half-timbered building in Saarner Dorf.
The company's operations in Spain and Portugal are managed by Leder Expert S.L. – a wholly owned subsidiary of asw – in San Rogue (Spain). It is also represented in Krakow (Poland) and Naples, Florida (USA).
